South Korean singer Zion. T creates new company for creators

  • South Korean hip-hop and R&B singer Zion. T announced his new company, Standard Friends, on Monday.  
  • According to the artist’s recent Instagram post, the company “is founded to make and present diverse form[s] of exciting art to the world.”
  • “I hope that the creators that this company supports could do better in what they do,” he added.
  • Zion T. is slated to perform at K-pop festival KAMP LA 2022 in October at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with the likes of Taeyeon, Monsta X, Aespa, iKON, Super Junior and Somi, to name a few.

HI, FRIENDS!” he wrote in his recent Instagram post. “Today, I am announcing my new born company, STANDARD FRIENDS. It’s been my habit to say, “Is there anything fun to do?” and this company is the natural answer of that long-time inquiry for myself.”

“STANDARD FRIENDS is founded to make and present diverse form of exciting art to the world,” he continued. “I hope that the creators that this company supports could do better in what they do. I’ve wrote an acceptance speechesque paragraph, but I hope you have enjoyed it HAHA. Please participate and support us, my friends. Love you. Bye.”

According to the artist, Standard Friends will not impact the work he does under YG Entertainment’s subsidiary The Black Label.

He is currently slated to perform at K-pop festival KAMP LA 2022 in October at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. He will be joined by other superstar acts such as Girls’ Generation leader Taeyeon, Aespa, Monsta X, Super Junior, iKON, P1Harmony, GOT7’s Bambam, EXO’s Kai and fellow The Black Label artist Somi, to name a few. 

Zion. T debuted with the single “Click Me” featuring Dok2 in 2011. His most recent single, “A Gift!,” was released in December 2021. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with other notable artists such as G-Dragon, Crush and Red Velvet member Seulgi.
