“Day One,” Mar wrote in his post. “Blessing Ceremony for a blessed show.”
In the picture, the cast and crew members are seen standing around a red table with candles, tea and an elaborate assortment of fruits.
Blessing ceremonies typically take place to celebrate Chinese New Year or before a wedding.
The Disney Plus show is an adaptation of the 2006 graphic novel by the same name, written and illustrated by Gene Luen Yang. The work explores themes of racial stereotypes and identity and the question of what it means to be Asian American.
