Daniel Dae Kim is asking Twitter users to help James Hong get his own Hollywood star after CNN shined a spotlight on the 91-year-old actor’s work in the entertainment industry.

Kim tweeted that the veteran actor deserved his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, AsAm News reported.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: James Hong deserves a Star on the #Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Kim said. “I’ve already started the nomination process. Who’s with me?”

Born in Minnesota to Chinese immigrants, Hong has over 500 credits to his name. He appeared in several iconic films and TV series, including “Seinfeld,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Blade Runner,” “Kung Fu Panda” and the 1998 Disney classic “Mulan.”

Many personalities in the movie industry quickly rallied behind Kim’s plan to help Hong get the recognition he deserves. Comedian Ken Jeong, actor Harry Shum Jr. and American stand-up comedian Amy Hill expressed their support.

After receiving much attention to his tweet, Kim launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Hong. However, it was short-lived as the crowdfunding platform did not allow any donations for Kim’s campaign.
