To protect his baby from the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a Chinese cosplayer has created a baby carrier inspired by the popular Hideo Kojima game “Death Stranding.”
The cosplayer, who goes by the handle White Shadow R&D and is a user of Douyin (China’s version of TikTok), showcases his creation in a now-viral picture on Twitter, according to SoraNews24.

In the picture, shared online by user @harakoatom, the cosplayer dons the “Death Stranding”-inspired baby carrier with his infant child inside.
“I’m going to take my child to the hospital today, so I invented this,” White Shadow R&D wrote in his caption.
“Chinese people’s ingenuity is great for taking children from the hospital while protecting them from the coronavirus,” user @harakoatom wrote.

This baby carrier is similar to the one actor Norman Reedus’ character, Sam Porter, carries around wherever he goes.
In the original Douyin post, the user shows a hole with a glove attached to the top where he can put his hand through to comfort the baby. There is also a tube in the front that is connected to an air filter and a raspberry pi display screen indicating the air quality information.
However, eagle-eyed fans also caught another video game reference in the cosplayer’s picture. It turns out, he is also wearing a hazmat suit with a logo of the Umbrella Corporation, a fictitious organization in the “Resident Evil” game franchise.

Several screenshots of the cosplayer walking around in his costume and baby carrier have been circulating on the internet, but videos are nowhere to be found, Kotaku reported.
